Category: The Future Will be Sown; Body Ornaments

Over several months now, we’ve made unexpected discoveries by establishing new relationships with our ecologies. Immersing ourselves in unfamiliar landscapes, travelling to the source of a raw material, exploring indigenous practices, embracing storytelling, and fostering new friendships, have contributed to a dramatic turn in our perception of how design can both belong to a place and innovate itself. Stepping into uncharted territories as architects,

The Future Will Be Sown – Milan Chapter, makes us courageously wear our vulnerabilities and insanities, quite literally.
Six ecological materials, Six wearable ornaments have meticulously emerged from six different landscapes in Southern India. These have each been crafted together with communities deeply rooted in their regions, cultivated over time.

It is madness
says reason
        It is what it is
        says love
It is unhappiness
says caution
It is nothing but pain
says fear
It has no future
says insight
               It is what it is
               says love
It is ridiculous
says pride
It is foolish
says caution
It is impossible
says experience
It is what it is
says love.”
